Celebrate Science Week with the Royal Horticultural Society and the Science Council
Society members have the perfect opportunity to celebrate Science Week thanks to the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). The RHS and the Science Council have come together to offer a special ‘two for one’ entry to RHS Garden Wisley, Surrey, on 12 and 13 March 2012.
Speakers from its Advisory and Entomology departments will be giving talks titled ‘Urban Greening’ and ‘New Pest to the UK’, during lunchtime in the Glasshouse on 12 March.
Professor Michael Hyland, a Chartered Psychologist, said: “Gardening is good for your health if you enjoy it. It is the person’s attitude to gardening that matters and what they get out of it.
“If you enjoy doing something and that something leads to achievement, you will end up feeling good.”
Science trails will also take place in all four gardens within RHS Garden Wisley. All children under the age of 16 that take part will get the chance to win the RHS ‘Wildlife Gardening’ book.
To take advantage of this offer, simply hand in your coupon at the entrance, together with proof of your Society membership.
