British Science Association Media Fellowship applications start coming in
Applications for this year's British Science Association Media Fellowships have started to come in. This annual scheme aims to bridge the gap between science and the news. The programme reflects the Association's commitment to increasing the accessibility of the growing industry and providing opportunities for discussion.
It aims to give scientists and their colleagues the confidence to engage with the media by giving participants the chance to learn how to produce newsworthy pieces about industry developments.
Hosts include the BBC, Guardian and the Times, while fellows will also work in the press centre at the British Science Festival.
Up to ten Media Fellowships are awarded each year to scientists, social scientists, engineers and clinicians from different backgrounds and career stages and the scheme has been growing from strength to strength since its inception in 1987.
The 2013 Media Fellows applications are open until 11 March 2013 and for further information or to apply see the British Science Association website.
