Autism expert to lead workshop in NI
An international autism expert is to lead a workshop in Northern Ireland (NI) to help identify the most effective autism services to develop.
The British Psychological Society's Division of Clinical Psychology (NI) in partnership with The Health and Social Care Board, The Public Health Agency and The Regional ASD Network said they were delighted to welcome Professor Patricia Howlin - a and a Fellow of the Society - to Belfast.
Professor Howlin, who has led evaluations of a range of different interventions including home and school based treatments, communication training and augmentative communication systems, early behavioural interventions and those which enhance parent management styles, will deliver Intervening in Autism at Malone House, Barnett Demesne on Monday April 18th between 10:00 and 12:00 BST.
She will also be discussing the findings of international autism intervention studies with the Regional Autism Network in NI as they consider what action may be best suited to those with experience of the condition.
