Speakers confirmed for 2018 Careers in Psychology events

12 July 2018

We will be holding two events, one in Newcastle and one in London, aimed at anyone who is looking to discover where a career in psychology can take them.

There are more than 750,000 people in the UK currently working in an area that involves psychology, and our Careers in Psychology events will present the diverse and rewarding options that are available.

Attendees will also have the chance to talk to our speakers and find out more about their own career paths, explore the opportunities that are available for further study, and meet potential employers.

Dr Gemima Fitzgerald, an expert in the area of resilience who was a mature student when she gained her Psychology BSc, will be talking at both the Newcastle and London events.

She will be joined by Dr Vicki Elsey, a Chartered Psychologist, HCPC Registered Occupational Psychologist and Principal Lecturer at Northumbria University.

Also speaking at the event in Newcastle is Fraser Smith, a counselling psychologist in training who also blogs and creates video content about psychology.

The final speaker at the London event is Dr Emma Norris, who is currently involved in developing an Early Career Network at the BPS to support postdoctoral lecturers, researchers and practitioners.
