Revised Counselling Psychology qualification launched

09 March 2018

The Counselling Psychology Qualification Board is pleased to announce that applications for enrolment on their revised qualification will be accepted from 1 April.

This qualification offers a route to achieve eligibility for Chartered membership in the applied discipline of Counselling Psychology, and is offered as a member benefit.

Training via this qualification is a route that assesses the same competencies as taught courses in Higher Education institutions, but offers greater flexibility to candidates.

Changes have been made to the qualification as a result of extensive feedback from candidates, supervisors, and assessors, and are intended to streamline the assessment process and progression through the qualification.

The design of the qualification is now shaped around portfolio submission, and candidates will be required to demonstrate competencies and show theoretical knowledge practice in a range of settings.

Study will still be supervised by a coordinating supervisor, with appropriate prior qualifications taken into account and training progressing at a pace that suits the candidate’s workload.

More details about the revised qualification are available on the relevant webpage, with further enquiries taken at [email protected].
