Could you be the next Chair of the Qualifications Committee?

07 November 2017

The Membership and Standards Board (MSB) is seeking to appoint a Chartered Member of the Society to act as Chair of the Qualifications Committee (QC) from June 2018.

The QC oversees and maintains HCPC approval of Society qualifications, reviews and monitors the delivery of Society qualifications, to develop and issue guidance and support to candidates and to monitor the quality of the provision of Society qualifications.  The QC Chair has overall responsibility for the running of the committee and its business.

The successful candidate must demonstrate substantial post-qualification experience, knowledge and understanding of the Society’s qualifications, experience of assessing at a postgraduate level in psychology and knowledge and experience of quality assurance processes in an educational or professional practice setting.

Candidates must be Chartered, full members of one of the divisions of psychology and registered with the HCPC.

The QC meets three times a year either face to face or by teleconference. Meetings usually take place in Leicester. MSB also meets three times a year. Attendance at other parties to represent QC may also be required. It is estimated that this commitment will be approximately 12 days a year, including the face-to-face meetings.

The deadline for submission of statement of interest forms and curriculum vitae is 1 December 2017. The appointment will be fixed term and cover a period of three years.  For further information contact Dorota Majcher-Tinney via email or on 0116 252 9529.
