Bath psychologists clean up in I’m a Scientist

26 June 2017

The winners of the two BPS-sponsored zones in June’s I’m a Scientist, Get Me Out of Here have been announced.

In the Mental Health zone, the winner was Jermaine Ravalier from Bath Spa University.

Jermaine’s research interests are in occupational health psychology, and in particular working conditions which can influence the health of employees.

And in the Relationships zone the winner was Sam Carr from the University of Bath.

Sam’s research explores human relationships and their role in shaping our psychological experiences through the lifespan.

I am a Scientist is an online event where scientists meet and interact with school students. The students challenge the scientists in online live chats, asking the scientists anything they want and voting for the eventual winner.

Jermaine and Sam each won a prize of £500 to communicate their work to the public.

The next round of I’m a Scientist, Get Me Out of Here will take place in November.
