Division of Sport and Exercise Psychology

The Division of Sport and Exercise Psychology (DSEP) represents the interests of psychologists working in sport and exercise settings.  It draws its membership from a broad range of psychologists including those working in academic settings and professional practice. 

The aims of the Division are:

  • To further the development of sport and exercise psychology.
  • To be the professional home for any psychologist whose work is in sport and/or exercise settings. 
  • To research, develop and apply psychological principles, knowledge models and methods in sport and exercise psychology in a scientific and ethical way.
  • To promote the development, wellbeing and effectiveness of individuals, groups, organisations and society.
Activites include:
  • Arranging symposia and workshops designed to improve the knowledge and skills of its membership.
  • Representing the interests of sport and exercise psychologists both within and outside the Society on matters of professional concern.
  • Publishing the bi-annual Sport and Exercise Psychology Review.
