Service User Representative

  • Graham Belchamber

I am the Service User Representative on the committee and joined through my patient involvement work with the East Sussex Heath Trust(ESHT). I have written a Patient Involvement Guide for faculty members, co-authored an article with two psychologists for the Transverse Myelitis Society Magazine on how psychology can assist patients with this chronic condition that I have and I am now setting up a patient involvement network for the faculty.

The ESHT Pain Management Programme turned my life around and I am enjoying returning that assistance by helping the faculty and BPS with the developing patient involvement strategy.

I live in Hastings, now retired due to my health after a varied working live in public services and the trade union movement and I enjoy life within the limits of my condition with plenty of Bruce Springsteen and other concerts, cricket watching and gentle exercise including strolling along the seafront.
