EuroPsy – A European Standard for Psychologists
EuroPsy – A European Standard for PsychologistsEuroPsy is the result of a six-year project funded by the European Union to develop a European benchmark in psychology. It has been accepted by the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA), an organisation representing almost 200,000 psychologists in 32 European states, as the European standard of entry to professional practice - equivalent to our own Chartered status. EuroPsy does not of itself represent a licence to practise and does not supersede the requirements of national registration or licensure. It does, however:
The implementation of EuroPsy has been piloted in six countries, including the UK, prior to its expected introduction throughout Europe during 2010. The Society has played a key role in the EuroPsy project and the development of the guiding principles, regulations and procedures governing the award. As the pilot phase has now ended the Society is not currently assessing applications for this award. However, we expect EuroPsy to be fully launched during the early part of 2010 and we hope to be able to offer the award more widely than was possible during the pilot phase. Please keep looking at this page of the website for up-dates and further information. Please contact the Membership Team if you have any enquiries.
