New CEO for the British Psychological SocietyProfessor Ann Colley has been appointed as the British Psychological Society's new Chief Executive. She takes up her post on 1 September, succeeding Tim Cornford who retires on 31 August.Professor Colley is currently Professor of Psychology at the University of Leicester. She is a former president of the Society and also previously served as Honorary General Secretary. Dr Liz Campbell, President of the British Psychological Society said: 'I am delighted that Professor Colley will be joining the Society as Chief Executive. Professor Colley is ideally placed to lead the Society's staff on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. I very much look forward to working with her during my time as President'. Professor Colley commenting on her appointment said: 'The imminent introduction of the Statutory Regulation of practitioner psychologists will enable the Society to devote more time and resources to its key activities as a learned society and professional body. I am delighted to have been chosen and I am looking forward to helping the Society's members to seize and capitalise on the opportunities ahead'.
