Annual Conference 2008

The 2008 British Psychological Society Annual Conference is taking place in Dublin from Wednesday 2 April until Friday 4 April 2008.

The Annual Conference is a flagship event for psychology and features presentations involving internationally recognised scholars, as well as seven skills-based workshops.


250 high profile poster sessions, featuring new research, will be presented at the conference along with a series of award lectures and symposia covering nine key areas including:

New media usage
The effects of drug and alcohol use
Activity levels and psychological health
There will also be six keynote speakers, including:
Daniel Kahneman of the Princeton University, USA, who will talk about "Reflections on the science of wellbeing".
William Yule of the Institute of Psychiatry, "Attention of self awareness".


Ian Robertson of Trinity College, Dublin, "Sex differences in human behaviour: What are their origins?"
