Annual Conference 2007 - University of York

The 2007 British Psychological Society Annual Conference is taking place at York Conference Park at The University of York from Wednesday 21 March until Friday 23 March.


The Annual Conference is a flagship event for psychology and features presentations involving internationally recognised scholars, as well as four skills-based workshops.

High profile poster sessions, featuring new research, will be presented at the conference along with a series of award lectures and symposia covering nine key areas including;

  • Psychology and Law
  • Stress, appraisal and coping in sport and exercise
  • The treatment of personality disorder in forensic settings
  • Social roles and social behaviour

There will also be six keynote speakers, including:


  • Martin Conway of the Centre for Memory and Language, Institute of Psychological Sciences, who will talk about "10,000 Autobiographical Memories: Results of the BBC's National Memory Survey."
  • Alice Eagly of Northwestern University, "Sex differences in human behaviour: What are their origins?"
  • Charles Spence of the University of Oxford, "Driving by the seat of your pants! A multi-sensory approach to capturing driver attention"
