An Introduction to Working with the Media
General information
A one-day immersion in the media - newspapers, magazines, radio and television - with lots of hands-on experience. The course is organised by the Press Committee of the British Psychological Society. It is particularly aimed at Division, Section, Special Group and Branch Officers who handle media liaison, although other Society members and non-members are welcome. This course is designed to give a general introduction to how the media operates, as well as introducing some of the skills necessary in media liaison (e.g. press release writing and interview techniques).
Course contents
The day is split into a series of presentations and exercises designed to give participants as much opportunity as possible to try their hand at the skills being discussed.
Registration fees
2008 fees are £133 per person for Society members and £166 per person for non-members. All fees are inclusive of VAT.
Timings
This course commences at 9.30 a.m. and finishes at approx. 4.30 p.m.

Cheques are to be enclosed with the application form, payable to The British Psychological Society. Mastercard/Visa/American Express/Switch and Delta card payments are also accepted.
