Wellcome Library
In 2007 the Wellcome Library (external link) agreed to house the Society’s main archive collections. These include the Society’s archive of its own administrative documents, individual psychologists’ working papers, and many other documents of historical interest.
This arrangement means that the Society’s collections will be kept to the highest archiving practice standards and will be available for direct access to researchers and others at a convenient central London location.
The different archive collections will over time be made progressively available through Wellcome Library's online archive and manuscripts catalogue. Listing in the catalogue means that the material will be available under the standard access arrangements for archival material. Material not yet listed may still be available for viewing, but the Library should be contacted at least 24 hours in advance (020 7611 8899 or archs+mss@wellcome.ac.uk).
The collaboration with the Wellcome Library also allows for the future development of all the Society’s archive collections.
