Psychotherapy Section Annual Training Conference 2012

This two day conference around the theme of 'Medically Unexplained Physical Symptoms: A training conference in working with people throughout the lifespan from a pan theoretical perspective' will be held at the Society's London Office on 19-20 March 2012.

The conference will be structured so that the mornings will have keynote speakers who will present their approach theoretically. This will be followed by workshops in the afternoon where participants will learn practical skills.

This conference gives an opportunity for individuals and organisations to examine and learn from psychotherapeutic and psychological approaches to working with people who present with Medically Unexplained Physical Symptoms. It adopts a developmental approach; starting with infancy through to working with older adults.  Adopting a pan-theoretical and multi-disciplinary approach presentations will be informed by Attachment theory, Object Relations, Systems, Neuroscience and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
