This years conference theme is:

"Individual and Social Change"

The theme of this year’s event is ‘Individual and Social Change’. The Social Psychology Section Annual Conference is a three-day event at which academics, practitioners and students present their views and work. Contributions include papers, symposia, posters and
workshops. This is an excellent opportunity for delegates to meet and learn from leading professionals both from the UK and overseas.

The 2013 Conference will have four Keynote Speakers including:

  • Professor Martha Augoustinos University of Adelaide, Australia
  • Professor Naomi Ellemers Leiden University, Netherlands
  • Professor Greg Maio Cardiff University, UK
  • Professor Ann Phoenix Institute of Education, London

The Social Psychology Section is part of the British Psychological Society (BPS), which is a non-profit-making educational and professional organisation for psychologists in the UK.
The Social Psychology section aims to:

  • encourage social psychological research;
  • facilitate the development of social psychological knowledge;
  • facilitate and promote the application of social psychological
  • knowledge in a variety of settings;
  • support and facilitate the professional development of social psychologists;
  • promote social psychological responses to social problems at national and international level;
  • increase public understanding of social psychology;
  • and safeguard a central place for social psychology in the curricula of psychology degrees.
