International Forum

"Reaching Out"

The conference committee would like to announce a very special event at this year’s 30th Birthday Celebrations, which we hope will reflect our commitment as a Division to outwardly reflect and widen our horizons. This important forum demonstrates the Division’s commitment to an increasingly international perspective.

It therefore gives us great pleasure to introduce you to our special guests, who will be participating in an International Forum, chaired by Dr Peter Martin, the outgoing Chair of the Division, which will draw this year’s annual conference to a close:

Speakers:

Pavlo Kanellakis: Director of Psychology for KCA UK; W.Midlands & S.E. Cost Regional Lead for the National Audit for Psychological Therapies; Editor of the European Journal of Counselling Psychology and DCoP Delegate for the Globalisation Special Task Group, will give a short talk.

Dr Stelios Gkouskos:
Clinical Placement Co-ordinator and Lecturer in Existential Phenomenological Counselling Psychology, Regent’s College, London, will give a short talk on the status and development of counselling psychology in Greece.

Ms Elaine Hosie:
Chair of the National Executive College of Counselling Psychology (Australian Psychological Society), will give a keynote speech as part of this forum on Counselling Psychologists as pioneers: the Australian perspective.

The Plenary:

Ms Elaine Hosie, Pavlo Kanellakis and Dr Stelios Gkouskos will be joined by

Dr Y Barry Chung (President of the Society of Counselling Psychology - Division 17 of the American Psychological Association), who will have delivered the preceding day’s keynote speech.
