Learning a Living and Occupational Psychologists’
Continuing Professional Development

Learning a Living workshops can provide valuable experience for Chartered Occupational Psychologists’ annual CPD requirements and for Practitioners-in-Training working towards Chartered status. For the old route Chartership process all the workshops clearly align with one or more of the eight areas of competence in Occupational Psychology. The new Qualification in Occupational Psychology requires demonstration of competence in the National Occupational Standards (NOS) in Psychology as well as these eight areas (now called the Knowledge Dimension).

The annual CPD requirements for qualified practitioners include reference to the six Key Role areas of the NOS and these are shown below.

N.B. As the learning goals for each individual are likely to be different, it is for each delegate to decide how the Learning a Living workshop attended applies to the NOS. It is possible that a workshop may relate to more than one NOS category, but you will need to demonstrate, in the ‘Learning Outcome and Reflective Evaluation’ section of your CPD Log, the learning you have gained from the workshop and how this relates to each of the NOS Key Roles assigned.

National Occupational Standards - Key Roles:
