Mark Embleton

Mark is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and Chartered Scientist. He has previously worked with the London Fire Brigade and more recently, the Metropolitan Police where he developed a new selection and assessment system for their specialist firearms officers during his time at New Scotland Yard.

Currently, he is an independent consultant with interests in web site design for usability and accessibility, and also works for the Open University. As an complete contrast to organisational matters, he researches optical illusions.

Mark originally became involved with the DOP as Chair of the Training Practitioner Support Group (TPSG), which exists to provide advice and support for Practitioners-in-Training. He then became Chair of the DOP and has also sat on the BPS Board of Trustees. He is currently Co-Convenor of the DOP Training and Development Subcommittee, which produces the annual Learning a Living workshop programme www.bps.org.uk/learningaliving2008
