Rachel Mulholland

Rachel graduated with an MSc in Occupational Psychology from Queen’s Belfast and has been a member of the BPS for many years. She is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and has served on the Committee of the former Section of Occupational Psychology. Whilst there she was involved in the Change of Name survey, student awards and the merging of the Section and Division. She has always been keen to have greater development and networking opportunities for Occupational Psychologists working across Scotland and was an active member of the Scottish Network of Business Psychologists. In 2004 she became involved with the Scottish Working Group of DOP and is very pleased that DOP-S is now being launched.

Rachel has worked in a variety of jobs over the years, from development of senior managers and entrepreneurs, assessment of people with health problems and reviewing of selection procedures for a public body. She recently moved to take up position as Co-Director of the MSc in Occupational Psychology that has been set up between Glasgow Caledonian and Strathclyde Universities and maintains Associate links with the Institute of Occupational Medicine.

Rachel’s occupational psychology interests lie in the fields of Personal and Organisational Development (incorporating Positive Psychology into organisations), Stress, Organisational Effectiveness, Human Factors, Assessment and Dignity at Work.

Rachel says: " I am keen to continue to raise the profile of occupational psychology in Scotland and enjoy taking on new challenges of continuing to develop understanding and practice in the field.."
