The aims of the Division are:
- To promote the professional development of clinical neuropsychology
- To encourage and promote research in the field of clinical neuropsychology Activities
include:
- Organisation of meetings and training events aimed both at experienced and less
experienced members
- Promotion of the development of qualifications and courses in clinical neuropsychology
- Symposia in conjunction with the Society's annual meetings.
There are three categories of membership (all members must be members of the
BPS).
1. Full Members must be Fellows, Associate Fellows, or Graduate Members of the Society, eligible
to be registered as a Chartered Psychologist, with a background relevant to neuropsychology
and have been engaged in clinical practice, teaching or research in neuropsychology
for at least two years full-time since becoming eligible, or an equivalent period
part-time.
2. Practitioner Full Members must be Fellows, Associate Fellows, or Graduate Members of the Society, eligible
to be registered as a Chartered Psychologist, and (a) Possess the qualifications
accredited by the Division of Neuropsychology in addition to qualifications which
make the applicant eligible for full membership of one of the other Divisions,
or (b) for candidates qualified in clinical neuropsychology overseas, possess
a qualification approved by the Division of Neuropsychology and be eligible for
full membership of another Division.
3. Affiliate Members Should have an interest in neuropsychology. This grade of membership is open
to all members of the Society.
