Inclusive Education Position Paper

This paper represents the Society's position on inclusive education. It grew originally out of a request from the 'Centre for Studies on Inclusive Education' (CSIE) to endorse its 'Charter for Inclusive Education'. In response to that request a DECP working group was formed, with membership from across the Society, with the brief to complete the task and report back. An insert in The Psychologist and Society subsystem publications described the task and invited submissions from the membership. After a subsequent series of planning and review meetings, the working group produced a draft position paper, alongside a recommendation that the Society should sign up to the Charter.

The Professional Practice Board accepted the Inclusive Education Position Paper, and the Chair of the DECP signed the Charter on behalf of the Society.

Please note that the position paper on Inclusive Education is currently being revised and updated.
