In this issue I want to divert from the norm and use this space to write about writing! We are introducing some changes to articles published in The Coaching Psychologist (TCP), and I think it’s important to go over them here, in my editorial.
The special group has a wide membership, only a small percentage of members submit articles for publication, I wonder what the reasons are for this? To my mind all you need is a little time, a viewpoint and a computer. If you do have an idea but are not sure if it’s of interest to other coaching psychologists, do e-mail me to discuss your idea. We are looking for a wide range of articles from across the disciplines, articles outlining theories, practice in different contexts, research, assessment, application of strategies, ethical issues and future directions.
As you may have noticed in the last issue of TCP, some articles included abstracts some didn’t, as from this month our aim is to standardise this process we would like readers to include abstracts and keywords with all submissions. The abstract does not need to be long, 250 words is really the max and depending on the length of the article you may wish to include up to about 10 keywords.
On a final note I thought it would be useful to include a submission checklist, please see the inside cover of TCP and do go through it prior to e-mailing me your submission:

All submissions most be e-mailed as an attachment and it is preferable that a hard copy of the article is also sent to The Centre for Coaching, Broadway House, 3 High Street, Bromley, BR1 1LF.

Word count included at the end of the article (1500 words is the average per article).
