Qualifying Exam
What is the Qualifying Exam?
The Qualifying Examination is intended for people who are graduates, but who do not hold an honours degree in psychology recognised by the Society and who are therefore not yet eligible for the Graduate Basis for Registration.
This includes anyone holding a UK degree which is not accredited by the Society, or any degree awarded outside of the UK.
Those who pass the Qualifying Exam (QE) will gain eligibility for the Graduate Basis for Registration and may seek to enter training towards becoming a professional psychologist.
The Regulations and Reading List for the Qualifying Exam are available from the Downloads section.
How do I register for the Qualifying Exam?
Every candidate entering for the Qualifying Exam must complete and return the registration form along with the appropriate fee and with documentary evidence of eligibility to sit the examination. The registration form is available from the
Downloads section and must be returned between 1 March and 1 May in the year of examination. Documentary evidence should include degree certificates and, in the case of students from overseas, a transcript of studies. Late registrations will not be accepted.
When are the exams being held?
This year's written examinations have already taken place. The exams for 2008 will take place during July and exact dates and locations will be posted here as soon as they are confirmed.
