Occupational Psychology
What is Occupational Psychology?
Occupational Psychology is concerned with the performance of people at work and in training, how organisations function and how individuals and small groups behave at work.
What qualifications in Occupational Psychology do the Society offer?
The Society offers two qualifications in Occupational Psychology.
All candidates for either Qualification must be Graduate Members of the Society and must hold the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership.
All candidates for the Qualification in Occupational Psychology (Stage 2) must hold either the Society’s own Stage 1 Qualification or an accredited MSc in Occupational Psychology.
The Qualification in Occupational Psychology (Stage 1) provides the necessary underpinning knowledge (equivalent to an MSc, and the alternative route to gaining Stage 1 for those who are unable to undertake a Society-accredited MSc in Occupational psychology). Further information on the Society’s Stage 1 Qualification can be found on the downloads page.
All candidates for the Qualification in Occupational Psychology (Stage 2) must hold either the Society’s own Stage 1 Qualification or an accredited MSc in Occupational Psychology.
The Qualification in Occupational Psychology (Stage 2) consists of supervised practice and the demonstration of competence in Occupational Psychology through a portfolio of competence. Further information on the Society’s Stage 2 Qualification can be found on the downloads page.
All supervisors for the Society’s Stage 2 Qualification must be Chartered Psychologists and Full Member of the Division of Occupational Psychology and registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist.
