The Society Library
Senate House Library at the University of London is a key benefit of Society membership giving members access to the Society’s comprehensive collection of books, journals and periodicals, and much more besides.
Society members can become reference readers at no charge (saving £160 on the public rate) by presenting themselves at the Library in person with ID (what ID do I need?).
Chartered psychologists need bring no more - Senate House can simply look the name up on the online register and they are given a reference card valid for three years.
Other members of the Society need to bring along either their BPS membership card or a letter of introduction from the Leicester office (e-mail membership to obtain one), and their reference card is valid for one year.
A reference card gives Society members access not only to the Society's own extensive collections but also to all Senate House's collections and resources. Additionally, Society members may apply to the Library to become borrowers at a special rate, currently £105 a year (compared to the public rate of £185).
Mura Ghosh is the BPS Psychology Librarian at Senate House. She is happy to answer general and bibliographic enquiries from Society members (whether or not they hold a library card). Call her on 020 7862 8449 or e-mail mura.ghosh@london.ac.uk.
