What are the submission dates?
Candidates must submit four submissions during their enrolment on the QSEP (Stage 2). You will be advised by the Registrar/Chief Supervisor when your first submission date is when you have been formally enrolled.
Submissions will be allocated to candidates monthly, with the exception of January and August.
What forms do I need to submit?
Candidates need to register for assessment and submit the completed form(s).
This should be sent to the Qualifications Officer, one month in advance of your submission date with the required fees.
What is the Portfolio of Competence?
Your Co-ordinating Supervisor should help you with your Portfolio of Competence. You can find more about this in the Candidate Handbook as well as what is required to submit for assessment – we recommend reading this before attempting to put your Portfolio together.
How is my Portfolio assessed?
You can find more details on how the Assessors will assess your Portfolio of Competence in the QSEP (Stage 2) Assesment Guidelines.
What do I need to submit?
Candidates must provide the following in their Portfolios of Competence (dependent upon their submission date):
1st Submission (six months or the part time equivalent) – Documentary Evidence
Contents of the 1st submission are:
- 2 x Quarterly supervisory meeting records
- 1st Submission supervisory report
- 1st QSEP EPC Form (see QSEP EPC Guidance Document for more details on how to complete)
2nd Submission (12 months or the part time equivalent) – Documentary Evidence
The contents of the 2nd submission are:
- Contents page
- 2 x Quarterly supervisory meeting records
- 2nd Submission supervisory report
- 2nd Submission supervisee report comprising:
- Key Role competency checklist grid (see Guidance Document for more details on how to complete)
- Practice Log
- Reflective Diary, and
- Updated plan of training
- 1st case study (2500 words)
- 2nd EPC Form
- Copy of the Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure (or Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) from Disclosure Scotland or an Access Northern Ireland Enhanced Disclosure)
3rd Submission (18 months or the part time equivalent) – Documentary Evidence
The contents of the 3rd submission are:

- 2 x Quarterly supervisory meeting records
- 3rd Submission supervisory report
- 2nd case study (2500 words)
- 3rd EPC Form
4th (and Final) Submission (24 months or the part time equivalent) – Documentary Evidence
The contents of the 4th submission are:

- Final Submission supervisory report
- Final Submission supervisee report comprising:
- Key Role competency checklist grid (see Guidance Document for more details on how to complete)
- Practice Log
- Reflective Diary, and
- Updated plan of training
- 3rd and 4th case studies (2500 words each)
- Research submission and Research Supervisor’s Report
- Final EPC Form
- Copy of the Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure (or Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) from Disclosure Scotland or an Access Northern Ireland Enhanced Disclosure)
Is there any feedback from the Chief Assessor?
The Chief Assessor writes a QSEP Chief Assessors report for the Board annually.

What about resubmission requirements?
Candidates should contact the Qualifications Officer who will advise candidates when the next submission date is available. Candidates should follow the instructions stipulated in their assesment report. All candidates must register for assessment one month in advance using the required form.
