Information for course providers
Accreditation through partnership is the process by which the Society works with education providers to ensure that quality standards in education and training are met by all course and training programmes on an ongoing basis.
We focus on working collaboratively with education providers and their stakeholders, and take an interactive approach to planning visit agendas. This leads to better dialogue with programmes and departments about the relationship they wish to have with the Society.
Our approach is based on partnership rather than on policing. With this in mind, we work hard to reduce the administrative burden associated with the accreditation process. We emphasise streamlining and rely upon existing documentation and education providers’ established internal monitoring. This promotes a spirit of supportive enquiry.
Accreditation through partnership focuses on promoting psychology as a science and on the development of transferable skills to enhance graduate employability.
Psychologist wellbeing practitioner training
Psychologist wellbeing practitioner training is accredited by a separate process maintained jointly by the British Psychological Society and the NHS’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme. For more information, go to the psychological wellbeing practitioner accreditation section.
