Why are the deadlines for submitting so early? Experience has told us that the conference programme needs to be issued as early as possible to allow delegates to make an informed decision about attending the conference. We aim to have the first draft of the programme published on the web by 1st November. This gives delegates plenty of time to register within the earlybird rate.
Why waste funds by sending pre-conference information by post? We have recently had our event database upgraded which allows us to send confirmations and receipts by email now. Of course, we do rely on delegates providing us with a correct email address to enable this system to work effectively.
The poster sessions in Brighton felt too cramped and rather brief, will you change this in 2010?
At the 2010 conference we have identified a larger area to display the posters and we have scheduled in a dedicated session on each day for poster presentations.
Why was there nowhere to sit and eat lunch? It is continually challenging to find an affordable venue that has sufficient space to hold the exhibition, poster displays and enough area for everyone to be seated at lunch. Very often the available lunch space has to be cleared in order to make space for the exhibition.
How will the Stratford venue differ from Brighton? The Stratford venue is larger than Brighton. All the meeting rooms are located on the ground floor and the majority have natural daylight. There are larger public areas, so we hope that there will be more seating for delegates and more space to relax and network.
Why is it not made clear what is included in the package price? We always try to make the registration form as clear as possible and include information about what is included in each of the packages. We have also included this information on the conference website.
I was disappointed there wasn’t time for Q&A at the end of keynotes In 2010 our keynotes will have 1 hour dedicated time on the programme. All of our keynotes will also take part in an "ask the keynote" session where delegates will have the opportunity to ask their questions during a dedicated session.
