Qualitative Methods

This workshop will be useful for those new to qualitative methods and /or computer tools designed to support the analysis of qualitative data.

This session will comprise two parts: First is a brief outline of some common methods used in analysing qualitative data in psychology. The second part of the session will introduce the range of software available for analysing qualitative data, and demonstrate some of the differences between packages. The session will combine demonstration and discussion and is accompanied by a comprehensive list of resources and further reading.

Dr Christina Silver, CAQDAS* Networking Project, University of Surrey

Christina is Manager of the CAQDAS Networking Project, which provides information, advice and support in the choice and use of qualitative software. She has conducted many research projects using qualitative methods and software tools, has taught CAQDAS packages for many years and has contributed to qualitative methods courses at a number of UK and European Universities.
