winning poster presenter Our poster presentation sessions proved to be a great success at the Annual Conference in Cardiff. A total of 198 abstracts were submitted, with 139 being accepted and presented at the conference.

Our winning poster was presented by Mark Wilson of Manchester Metropolitan University. In the category of Sports & Exercise, Mark's poster was titled "Are co-drivers a help or a hindrance? The influence of co-driver information on performance and mental effort during simulated rally driving". The abstract and a copy of his poster are available here.

Four other posters were "highly commended", the winners of these were:

"Intergroup contact, prejudice and ethnicity: evidence for longitudinal mediation and moderation" by Jens F Binder & Rupert J Brown, University of Sussex

"Constraints in Verbal Insight Problem Solving" by Afia Ahmed & Dr John Patrick, Cardiff University

"The Nature and Nurture of General Cognitive Ability in Middle Childhood" by Oliver Palfrey-Davis, Rosalind Arden & Robert Plomin, Kings College London

"A trial of the effectiveness of a brief self-help coping intervention for women waiting for genetic risk information" by Ceri Phelps, Cardiff University, Paul Bennett, Swansea University, Kate Brain & Kerry Hood, Cardiff University and Jonathon Gray, Cancer Genetics Service for Wales
